Colombian artist Shakira has been officially confirmed as the main musical act of the 2026 Saudi Arabia Formula 1 Grand Prix, which will take place on April 19 in the city of Jeddah, one of the most important and widely covered sporting events on the global motorsports calendar.

The announcement was made by the Saudi Motorsport Company, the event’s organizer, and marks a milestone both in the Colombian star’s career and in the relationship between music and elite sports.

Although Shakira has previously attended Formula 1 races as a spectator, this will be the first time she performs officially at a Grand Prix, consolidating her presence on stages that go beyond the strictly musical.

Shakira at the Formula 1 Grand Prix: a historic debut in Saudi Arabia

Shakira’s participation in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix comes amid Formula 1’s global expansion, as the sport has increasingly embraced world-class musical performances in recent years to attract new audiences.

In this context, the choice of the Colombian singer reflects her status as a global pop and Latin music icon, capable of connecting with diverse audiences.

Her show in Jeddah will be part of the official activities of the race weekend, which will take place from April 17 to 19, bringing together entertainment, sport, and culture in a single event.

For Saudi Arabia, Shakira’s presence reinforces the country’s strategy of positioning itself as a new hub for major international spectacles.

This Formula 1 debut adds to an especially active period in Shakira’s career, as she is currently experiencing one of the strongest moments of her artistic trajectory.

Part of the ‘Las mujeres ya no lloran’ world tour

The performance at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is part of her Las mujeres ya no lloran world tour, an ambitious global journey that has spanned 15 months, with 101 concerts in 17 countries and a total attendance of more than 3.3 million people, achieving 100% capacity at most dates.

The tour has grossed over US$421 million, establishing itself as one of the most successful in recent years. It has also featured special guests such as Wyclef Jean, Pitbull, Black Eyed Peas, Grupo Niche, Natalie Perez, and GALE, further reinforcing its global and diverse character.

As part of this same tour, Shakira also has other key performances scheduled in the Middle East:

March 28, 2026, in Aqaba, Jordan (Ayla – Ḩayy Jabal ‘Ammān).
April 4, 2026, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, as part of the Offlimits Music Festival.

These dates confirm that this is the first time the artist has brought a world tour of this magnitude to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan, marking her formal debut in the region with a full-scale tour.
