The 2026 Northeastern Colombian Coffee Fair will take place from February 27 to March 1 at the Neomundo Convention Center in Bucaramanga, establishing itself as one of the country’s most important agro-industrial and cultural events.
Bucaramanga will once again be the epicenter of this coffee gathering, bringing together producers, experts, international buyers, and the general public, with the goal of positioning northeastern Colombia as a key region on the map of high-quality coffee.
This year will mark the fourth edition of the fair, an event that has steadily grown in scope and visibility since its creation. For this new edition, the program will include, for the first time, an international coffee auction.
Highlighted events of the Northeastern Colombian Coffee Fair
Among the most significant milestones of the 2026 edition is the first international coffee auction held as part of the fair. This space will allow specialty coffees produced in the region to be offered directly to international buyers and roasters, creating greater commercial opportunities for coffee growers and strengthening the value chain.
Another central event will be the Colombian Cup Tasters Championship, a high-level competition in which the winner will represent Colombia at the world championship. This activity not only promotes national talent but also highlights the sensory quality of Colombian coffees.
The program also includes specialty coffee exhibitions, quality competitions, an academic agenda featuring talks on innovation, sustainability, and international markets, as well as networking spaces designed to connect producers, exporters, buyers, and industry experts.
The fair will also feature cultural and commercial areas open to the public, making it an inclusive event that seeks to bring the world of coffee closer to both professionals and end consumers.
The quality of northeastern Colombian coffee, the fair’s main focus
One of the central pillars of the 2026 Coffee Fair will be the celebration of the quality of northeastern Colombian coffee, a region that in recent years has gained recognition for its distinctive profiles and its strong commitment to specialty coffees.
The northeastern coffee-growing region is mainly made up of the departments of Santander, Norte de Santander, and parts of Boyaca, areas characterized by mountainous geography, diverse microclimates, and crops grown between 1,200 and 2,000 meters above sea level. These conditions allow for the development of coffees with sweet notes, balanced acidity, and complex aromatic profiles.
In Santander, towns such as El Socorro, Ocamonte, Charala, and San Gil have stood out for their high-quality coffee production, while in Norte de Santander, areas such as Toledo, Lourdes, and Chinacota are particularly notable. In these regions, small- and medium-scale coffee growers have invested in careful processing methods, improved varieties, and sustainable practices.
The fair will serve as a platform to showcase these coffees to national and international buyers, reaffirming the potential of northeastern Colombia as a competitive coffee-producing region with a strong and distinctive identity.
