The renowned Colombian coffee chain Juan Valdez inaugurated in February 2026 its first global flagship store, a space that marks a new chapter in the brand’s evolution and in the way Colombian coffee is presented to the public.

Located in the northern part of Bogota, the venue becomes the company’s largest store in the world, with more than 1,500 square meters distributed across three levels designed to offer a comprehensive experience centered on coffee.

Unlike other traditional retail locations, this space is not conceived solely as a place for consumption but as a cultural journey that combines history, coffee identity, and sensory exploration. The opening also represents a symbolic milestone: It is the first flagship store the brand has established globally, despite its extensive international presence.

Juan Valdez flagship store: an experience inspired by 1959

The central concept of the building revolves around 1959, the year the Juan Valdez character was created, becoming the global symbol of the Colombian coffee grower. Each of the three floors develops a distinct atmosphere that connects history, culture, and gastronomy through coffee.

The first level serves as a welcome area and main gathering point. It features a traditional-style café with direct street access, offering classic beverages along with new cold preparations designed to appeal to younger audiences. It is the most dynamic environment in the building, intended for spontaneous visits and informal meetings.

On the second floor, the experience takes on a more sensory and educational character. This level is dedicated to cultural activities such as guided tastings, workshops, and immersive experiences that explain the journey of coffee from cultivation to cup.

The goal is for visitors to explore the product through aromas, textures, and narratives that highlight the Colombian origin of the beans and the work of coffee farmers.

The third floor offers a more sophisticated gastronomic proposal. A restaurant operates here, combining coffee with signature cuisine, highlighting pairings and dishes inspired by Colombia’s culinary traditions.

This level is designed as the most exclusive part of the experience, aimed at those seeking a complete journey that integrates flavor, technique, and creativity.

More than a store: a new landmark for Colombian coffee

The opening of this shop also reflects changes in the company’s strategy, focusing on large-format spaces capable of functioning as destinations in themselves. The venue is conceived as a meeting point for locals and visitors, integrating tourism, gastronomy, and education around coffee.

“The space seeks to allow visitors to experience coffee from its origin, through aromas, roasting processes, and preparations that highlight its identity,” said Camila Escobar, CEO of the company.

With this concept, the new site positions itself not only as the brand’s largest establishment but also as a space that reinterprets Colombian coffee from a cultural, historical, and sensory perspective, expanding the way one of the country’s most representative products is experienced.
