Colombia is preparing for a new edition of Bogota Fashion Week 2026, one of the most important events in the textile and design industry in Latin America. From May 12 to 14, Agora Bogota Convention Center will host 145 brands and independent designers in a program focused on creativity, business, and internationalization.

The ninth edition of the event arrives at a strategic moment for Colombia’s fashion sector, which continues to strengthen its presence in global markets. With runway shows, business meetings, and a specialized academic agenda, the event aims to reinforce Bogota as the creative and commercial hub of the region.

Beyond serving as a platform to showcase new collections, Bogota Fashion Week has become a meeting point for emerging talent, international buyers, and investors interested in the potential of Latin American fashion.

About the runways and designers of Bogota

One of the main highlights of the event will be the 28 runway shows scheduled throughout the three days. A total of 44 selected brands will participate, presenting proposals defined by innovation, sustainability, and a strong Colombian identity.

The 2026 edition will feature leading names in national design. The opening show will be led by Kika Vargas, internationally recognized for being a finalist for the LVMH Prize and for her collaborations with major global brands. Her presence reinforces the international profile the event has gained in recent years.

The closing show, meanwhile, will be presented by Francesca Miranda, a designer from Barranquilla with a strong international career and one of the most representative figures of Colombian fashion abroad.

Participants arrive after completing a demanding preparation process that included more than 720 hours of specialized training. This demonstrates that the event is not only a commercial showcase, but also a platform for business and creative growth for emerging brands.

Business, buyers, and international projection

Beyond the aesthetic component, Bogota Fashion Week has positioned itself as a strategic space for doing business. This edition will feature a Wholesale business roundtable with the participation of more than 80 national and international buyers.

The goal is to create commercial alliances, expand portfolios, and open export opportunities for Colombian brands. The hybrid model of the event will combine structured agendas with dynamic tours, facilitating negotiations and direct contact between entrepreneurs and buyers.

This business approach is especially important for a city like Bogota, which represents nearly 33% of Colombia’s fashion market. The city currently has more than 32,000 companies linked to the sector and around 200,000 direct jobs related to this industry.

Fashion, knowledge, and impact on the city

The program will also include an academic agenda with 24 talks and meetings featuring more than 60 industry experts. Topics will include global trends, sustainability, conscious consumption, branding, innovation, and new business models.

This component seeks to address the current challenges of the industry, where fashion competes not only through design, but also through purpose, traceability, and connection with increasingly demanding consumers.

In addition, the event boosts complementary sectors such as hospitality, gastronomy, transportation, and business tourism. The arrival of buyers, specialized press, and international guests generates additional economic activity for the city.
