The Colombia Avocado Board (CAB) has officially introduced its ‘Avocados from Colombia’ brand in the U.S. market, marking a significant milestone for the country’s avocado exports. According to the CAB, the launch includes a refreshed website, updated trade show materials, new educational and promotional resources and a strong digital presence. The Colombian Avocado Board will unveil its new brand identity at the upcoming IFPA Foodservice Conference, taking place in Monterrey, California next July 31.

‘Avocados from Colombia’ enters the US market

The debut comes on the heels of a record-breaking export surge, with shipments of Colombian Hass avocados to the U.S. hitting 85 million pounds in the first half of 2025—more than double the volume from the same period last year.

“This brand is more than just a new logo; it’s a celebration of the hardworking growers and the unique geography that makes Colombian avocados something special,” said Pedro Aguilar, board chair of the CAB.

The goal of this brand according to CAB is to increase brand recognition, deepen consumer trust and showcase Colombia as a reliable, year-round supplier of high-quality Hass avocados. The board also emphasized that the new branding offers a consisted and compelling identity, one that authentically reflects the country’s rich and diverse growing regions, while celebrating the nearly 80,000 men and women whose work fuels the success of Colombia’s avocado industry.

Manuel Michel, managing director of the Colombia Avocado Brand, underscored the brand’s momentum and broader mission during the launch. “We are proud to lead a brand that reflects consistent year-over-year growth and ongoing investments in economic opportunity and community development. Looking ahead, we anticipate ‘Avocados from Colombia’ will have an even greater presence in the U.S. market, supported by an expanded promotional footprint.”

His comments reflect the board’s dual focus: increasing viability in the competitive U.S. avocado space while reinforcing the industry’s role as a driver of rural prosperity in Colombia.

Colombia consolidates its position as a global ‘green gold’ powerhouse

Colombia’s avocado industry continues to expand at a rapid pace, solidifying the country’s place among the top global producers and exporters. So far, in 2025, the country exported nearly 47,000 tons of Hass avocados in just the fort quarter, bringing in close to USD $92 million in revenue, with an average price of USD $1.94 per kilo. Annual production of Hass avocados is now estimated at 150,000 tons, with roughly two-thirds destined for international markets.

The growth has been nothing short of remarkable. Between 2020 and 2024, according to the industry’s data, Colombia exported more than 482,000 tons of avocados, achieving an annual growth rate of over 40%. In 202 alone, avocado exports brought more than USD $300 million, marking a 54% increase compared to the previous year. Key producing regions such as Antioquia, Valle del Cauca and the department of Risaralda in the western central of the country, account for more than half of Colombia’s international shipments.

On the global stage, Colombia has positioned itself as one of the top three producers of avocados trailing only Mexico and Dominican Republic. In 2022, total avocado production in Colombia exceeded 1 million tons, and forecasts for 2025 suggest continued momentum, with South America’s collective exports expected to surpass that figure.

Backed by favorable growing conditions and increasing international demands, Colombia’s avocado sector is now a central pillar of its agricultural economy. As global consumption continues to rise, the country’s combination of volume, quality, and year-round supply positions it as a leading force in the future of the avocado trade.
