Three Colombian bars earned a spot in the prestigious The World’s Best Bars 2025 ranking. Two of them are located in Medellin and one in Bogota, confirming that Colombia’s cocktail scene is experiencing a moment of growth and international recognition.

The list, which each year celebrates excellence in mixology, hospitality, and bar experiences, recently unveiled the positions from 51 to 100. Among them are Bar Carmen in Medellin at number 100, Mamba Negra, also in Medellin, at number 81, and, for the fourth consecutive year, La Sala de Laura in Bogota, ranked number 68 in this edition.

Colombian Bars among the World’s Best 2025

Bar Carmen – Medellin

Located inside the renowned restaurant Carmen, in the El Poblado neighborhood, Bar Carmen celebrates Colombia’s biodiversity through its liquid proposal. Its cocktails are crafted with native fruits, herbs, fermented products, and ancestral distillates, seeking to connect each drink to the territory. Bar director Maycoll Tobon applies culinary techniques to mixology, creating innovative experiences that tell stories.

The bar is also strongly committed to sustainability: it supports local producers, biodiversity-focused farmers, and artisanal fishermen, integrating responsible practices into every preparation. Among its signature drinks is “La Chicha”, a cocktail inspired by Colombian tradition, made with rum, vodka, and pickled pineapple.

The World’s Best Bars 2025 included Bar Carmen at number 100, highlighting that “the bar has become one of the city’s hottest drinking and dining spots, thanks to its combined package of experimental cuisine and equally creative cocktails, led by bartender Maycoll Tobon.”

Mamba Negra – Medellin

In the vibrant El Poblado district, Mamba Negra stands out as one of Medellin’s most sophisticated and avant-garde bars. Its name evokes the world’s deadliest snake, and its proposal seeks to seduce with intense flavors, provocative design, and a multisensory experience combining gastronomy, music, and signature cocktails.

Its cocktail menu, titled “Culebrero”, is inspired by Medellin’s history and evolution, reinterpreting classics and integrating original creations. This innovative concept has earned it international recognition: it was featured on the 50 Best Discovery platform, named a finalist at the Spirited Awards as one of the region’s most innovative bars, and now appears in The World’s Best Bars 2025, ranked number 81.

According to the publication, “in Medellin’s burgeoning bar scene, Mamba Negra offers impressive views from its rooftop terrace, striking interiors, and a cocktail list that lives up to the aesthetics. Its menu pulls from the classic catalogue, with a few fun twists reflected in names such as Not So Famous and Silent Words.”

La Sala de Laura

Located above the acclaimed Leo restaurant in Bogota, La Sala de Laura is one of Colombia’s most creative and representative bars. Each cocktail tells a story inspired by the country’s ecosystems — from the paramo and the humid jungle, to the tropical dry forest and the desert.

Its preparations feature unique ingredients such as coca leaf, borojo, naidi, and tomaseca, along with artisanal vermouths inspired by different territories: Caribbean, Andean, and Mountain. This innovative approach has kept the bar on the international radar.

La Sala de Laura first entered the ranking of the world’s top 100 bars in 2022, and has remained there without interruption. In 2024, it reached number 44, and in 2025, it ranked number 68, consolidating itself as the only Colombian bar to appear on the list for four consecutive years.
