Karol G was one of the major guests at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. The event, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, took place last night at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York.
Karol G captured the audience’s attention with a spectacular performance of her iconic merengue song, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.” Her performance became even more memorable when she made American singer Taylor Swift, one of the biggest stars of the night, get up and dance. For her performance, the Colombian artist wore the Colombian flag hanging from her pants in a tribute to her roots.
The MTV Video Music Awards recognize the best music videos of the year. Karol G was nominated in the Best Latin Video category for her song “Mi Ex Tenia Razon.” Although she did not win the award this time, her energetic performance was one of the most talked-about moments of the night and got audience members up on their feet to dance.

The singer wore a yellow dress with a striking flame print, a vintage piece from the Spring-Summer 1996 collection by designer Veronique Leroy. Karol G completed her look with natural makeup and bold red lips, which enhanced her bold yet sophisticated style.

Anitta captivated the audience with a medley of her hits “Paradise,” “Alegria,” and “Savage Funk.” Camila Cabello moved the crowd with her performances of “Godspeed” and “June Gloom,” while Rauw Alejandro raised the energy with his performances of “Touching the Sky,” “Diluvio,” and “Dejame Entrar.”
