The 37th edition of the Bogota International Book Fair kicks off in Colombia, running until May 11 at Corferias. This year, the event will feature participation from over 20 countries and will bring together 500 national and international guests.

Spain will be the guest of honor for this edition, under the theme “A culture for peace, with others and with the planet.” The fair will also celebrate its central theme, “The Words of the Body,” a concept that invites reflection on the many connections between the body and topics such as identity, memory, language, migration, the environment, journalism, music, and the aftermath of violence.

Bogota International Book Fair: ‘The Words of the Body’

This year’s main theme highlights the body as a core subject of cultural, artistic, and literary exploration. The fair encourages open and diverse dialogue on how the body interacts with words, and vice versa, promoting critical thinking, diversity, and inclusion.

Organized by the Colombian Book Chamber and Corferias, this major cultural event will feature renowned authors such as Rosa Montero, Javier Cercas, Laura Restrepo, and Andrés Neuman, among many others.

As the guest country, Spain will have a 3,000-square-meter pavilion, which will include a bookstore offering over 15,000 titles. Its participation seeks to foster cultural and literary exchange with Colombia and Latin America.

More than 2,300 cultural activities
