Maria Antonia Mosquera Carvajal, the representative of Valle del Cauca, was crowned Miss Colombia 2025–2026 during the election and coronation gala held at the Convention Center of the Hotel Las Americas in Cartagena.

The gala, one of the most anticipated events of the year, stood out not only for its impeccable production and emotional tributes to Colombian culture, but also for the high level of the 26 contestants, who paraded in traditional costumes, evening gowns, and swimwear before a demanding panel of judges.

Coronation of Miss Colombia 2025–2026

The pageant brought together 26 contestants from different regions of the country, all prepared to compete in one of the most emblematic nights of Colombian culture. Through traditional costume parades, swimwear presentations, and interviews with the jury, Mosquera stood out for her poise, calmness, and stage presence — qualities that made her a favorite in the decisive moments of the night.

Before receiving the crown, she had already made an impression by earning the title of Miss Elegance, an award that reinforced her prominence in the competition. Finally, in the final round, her name resounded as the new queen, succeeding Catalina Duque Abreu, Miss Colombia 2024, who passed on the crown amid a standing ovation from the audience.

Who is Maria Antonia Mosquera?

The new queen is 24 years old, stands 1.81 meters tall, and has a solid professional background. She holds a degree in business administration with an emphasis on sustainability, and she is also a singer-songwriter and content creator — a combination that reflects her versatility and modern vision of what it means to be a national beauty queen. Additionally, she has nurtured her love for music and dance from a young age, especially for salsa, one of the cultural trademarks of her region.

From the beginning of her preparation, Mosquera has stood out for her discipline and her clear message: She aims to lead with purpose and inspire other women through empowerment, authenticity, and social commitment.

Valle del Cauca, the Colombian department with the most crowns

Mosquera’s victory reinforces the historical strength of Valle del Cauca in the National Beauty Contest. The department is one of the most consistent in winning crowns and has become known for preparing well-rounded, competitive candidates with a strong sense of cultural identity. Once again, Valle demonstrates why it is considered one of the main powerhouses of beauty pageants in Colombia.

What lies ahead for the new queen

As Miss Colombia 2025–2026, Mosquera will take on the responsibility of representing the country at Miss International, to be held in Japan. She will also lead social causes, participate in cultural initiatives, and continue projecting an image of modernity, talent, and commitment.

Her election marks the beginning of a new chapter for the pageant and for the country, with a queen who embodies tradition, preparation, and a contemporary vision of the role Colombian women play on national and international stages.
