The Colombian pizzeria Pizzardi Artigianale was recognized with the Best International Pizza Maker 2025 award at the Pizza DOC Awards, held in Naples, Italy — the birthplace of Neapolitan pizza. This is an unprecedented achievement: It is the first time a Colombian restaurant has received this honor, considered one of the most prestigious awards in the world in this field.
The recognition not only highlights the quality of a single pizzeria but also places Colombia on the global map of high-end Italian cuisine, proving that tradition can be replicated with rigor and respect even thousands of kilometers away from its place of origin.

The Pizza DOC Awards, known as the “Oscars of Neapolitan pizza,” annually distinguish the best representatives of this culinary tradition both inside and outside Italy. The Best International Pizza Maker award is reserved for international pizzerias that manage to preserve the authenticity of Neapolitan pizza, respecting its recipes, techniques, and philosophy.
In 2025, the jury set its sights on Pizzardi Artigianale, a pizzeria with two locations in northern Bogota, highlighting its absolute fidelity to the original recipe. The award was granted for its use of ingredients imported from Italy — such as tomatoes and cheeses with designation of origin — specialty flours, and a dough made through slow fermentation, in line with traditional standards.
This accolade marks a milestone for Colombian gastronomy, demonstrating that a local project can compete at the highest level in arenas historically dominated by European benchmarks.
Neapolitan tradition made in Bogota
Pizzardi Artigianale has established itself as a benchmark for authentic Neapolitan pizza in Colombia. It was the first pizzeria in the country to receive certification from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), a seal that guarantees strict compliance with traditional methods, from dough preparation to baking in a wood-fired oven.
Its culinary offering includes classics such as Margherita and Carbonara pizzas, as well as traditional Italian desserts such as tiramisu and cannoli. These are complemented by a carefully curated selection of Italian wines, cocktails, and coffee.
Before this triumph in Italy, Pizzardi had already been recognized by the 50 Top Pizza LATAM guide, which in 2025 ranked it as the best pizzeria in Colombia and number 22 in Latin America, in addition to awarding it the special Best Entry of the Year prize. These honors have consolidated its reputation both regionally and internationally.
