Colombia will be one of the privileged countries to receive the Original FIFA World Cup Trophy as part of the official tour leading up to the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The iconic trophy, the most coveted prize in world football, will arrive in Bogota on Feb. 15 and 16, 2026, where it will be on public display at the Gran Salon of Corferias.

The trophy’s visit is part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, a global initiative organized by FIFA and presented by Coca-Cola, aimed at bringing football’s ultimate symbol closer to fans in different countries ahead of the tournament. For Colombia, this will be a unique opportunity to see the trophy once again on national soil, following its last visit in 2014, ahead of the Brazil World Cup.

During the two days of exhibition in Bogota, visitors will be able to see the original trophy up close, crafted from solid 18-karat gold and weighing approximately 6.1 kilograms. In addition to access to the trophy itself, the event will feature interactive experiences, photo opportunities, and themed activities related to the history and excitement of the World Cup.

Organizers have noted that the exhibition is designed not only for football fans but also for families and the general public, to turn the visit into a cultural and sporting experience.

The arrival of the trophy takes on special significance in the context of the 2026 World Cup, which will mark a historic milestone as the first tournament ever hosted jointly by three countries and the participation of 48 national teams. This expanded format reinforces the global nature of the competition and the importance of initiatives such as the trophy tour.

The global trophy tour on the road to 2026

The Original FIFA World Cup Trophy will travel to 30 countries and make 75 international stops over more than 150 days, becoming one of the most extensive sports tours ever undertaken. The tour began on Jan. 3, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will continue through FIFA member federations across all continents before reaching the World Cup host nations.

In Latin America, the route includes countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Mexico, highlighting the region’s deep historical and cultural connection to football. After its stop in Bogota, the tour will continue to Quito, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo, before concluding its journey through South America with several stops in cities across Brazil. It will then return to North America, where it will continue its path through Mexico, one of the host countries of the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
