Netflix announced the premiere of the fourth and final season of the series Eva Lasting, which will be released on March 18. The Colombian production, known in Spanish as “La primera vez,” will reach its definitive conclusion with an installment that promises to close the stories that, in recent years, have accompanied millions of viewers both inside and outside the country.

With 12 episodes scheduled for this final stage, the series says goodbye after establishing itself as one of the platform’s most successful Latin American projects, standing out for its portrayal of youth, love, and the social changes of the late 20th century in Colombia.

A fourth season that brings the Colombian series Eva Lasting to conclusion

The final season will focus on the resolution of the protagonists who have guided the story from the beginning, especially Eva and Camilo Granados, whose relationship has been the emotional core of the narrative. The plot will explore how their emotional bonds evolve and what paths they choose as they face the transition into adulthood.

The story takes place during the transitional period between the late 1970s and the arrival of the 1980s, a time marked by cultural, social, and political changes that directly influence the characters’ decisions. This historical context not only serves as a backdrop but also functions as a narrative element that reflects the protagonists’ personal growth and the transformation of the country.

In addition to its romantic component, the season will address friendship, identity, and the future as central themes. Each member of the youth group will have their own conclusion, allowing viewers to learn the fate of those who have shared experiences, conflicts, and discoveries throughout the series.

The narrative seeks to maintain a balance between nostalgia, learning, and farewell, with an emotional tone that blends melancholy and hope.

The ending is presented as a reflection on the passage of time and the inevitability of change, themes that have been present since the beginning of the series. The farewell aims to honor the protagonists’ growth while offering a satisfying conclusion for viewers who have followed the story across multiple seasons.

The success of the Colombian series Eva Lasting

Since its debut, the series has become a cultural phenomenon that transcended borders. Its mix of youthful romance, historical reconstruction, and social reflection connected with audiences in different countries, especially across Latin America, where it consistently ranked among the most-watched content for several consecutive seasons.

The project also marked a milestone for Colombia’s audiovisual industry by establishing itself as one of the few national productions to achieve multiple seasons within the platform’s global catalog.

Its aesthetic proposal, inspired by a retro setting, combined with its focus on the adolescent experience, allowed viewers from different generations to identify with the characters.

While some found a reflection of their own youth, others discovered an emotionally honest portrait of a period that transformed social relationships and individual aspirations.

Media recognition and constant conversation on social networks consolidated its reputation as a successful franchise. The series not only achieved high viewership levels but also sparked discussions about historical memory, education, cultural change, and the evolution of human relationships in times of social transition.
