The ceremony, held in Kaseya Center, Miami, confirmed the global impact of Colombian talent across genres such as pop, urban music, and ballads, consolidating the country as one of the creative powerhouses of the music industry.

Between performances, tributes, and award presentations, Colombian artists starred in some of the most talked-about moments of the night, both for their wins and their live performances.

The leading Colombian figure of the evening was Shakira, who won Tour of the Year for her global tour Las mujeres ya no lloran World Tour, a show that has traveled across multiple continents with strong attendance and critical acclaim. Her victory reaffirmed the artist’s international reach and the impact of her most recent musical era.

Another major honoree was Karol G, named Female Artist of the Year. Her track Latina Foreva also earned Song of the Year in the urban category, reinforcing her leadership within the genre and her continued dominance on the charts.

Urban music also celebrated the Collaboration of the Year award for +57, a project that brought together several Colombian stars: J Balvin, Maluma, Feid, Ryan Castro, Blessd, Dfzm, and Ovy On The Drums, alongside Karol G. The award highlighted the collective strength of Colombia’s urban movement and its ability to project itself as a global phenomenon.

In other categories, Feid was recognized for his album Ferxxo Vol X: sagrado as Urban Album of the Year, while Maluma was named Male Pop Artist of the Year. The singer also delivered one of the ceremony’s most emotional moments by paying tribute to the late popular-music performer Yeison Jiménez, a gesture that resonated deeply with the Latin audience.

Special recognitions

Colombian talent also stood out in Latin pop. The collaboration between Shakira and Alejandro Sanz was awarded Pop Collaboration of the Year for the song Bésame, reaffirming both artists’ enduring relevance and their longstanding musical connection.

Meanwhile, the band Morat received Album of the Year in the pop/ballad category for Ya es mañana, consolidating its international growth and positioning within Spanish-language pop.

One of the night’s most moving moments was the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Juanes, a key figure in contemporary Latin music. The tribute was presented by members of Morat.

The night’s biggest winners

Although Colombian talent was widely celebrated, the artists with the most awards of the night were Bad Bunny and Carin Leon, who won six and five trophies, respectively.

Bad Bunny received several of the top honors, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, and Song of the Year for DtMF. Carin Leon, meanwhile, dominated multiple regional Mexican categories, including Male Artist of the Year in that genre.
