Colombian artist Shakira made history by gathering about 400,000 fans at a free concert in Mexico City’s Zocalo, setting a new attendance record at one of the world’s most iconic public venues.

The singer bid farewell to the country with her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour on March 1, delivering a massive show that transformed the heart of the Mexican capital into a space of collective celebration. The performance not only closed the Latin American leg of her tour but also marked a historic moment in live music by drawing an unprecedented crowd for a free outdoor concert.

Shakira breaks attendance record with free concert at Mexico City’s Zocalo

The massive event took place in the emblematic Zocalo of Mexico City, one of the most important public spaces in Latin America. About 400,000 people attended Shakira’s performance, surpassing all previous records for large-scale concerts held at the venue and cementing the event as one of the most attended in the musical history of the Mexican capital.

The concert was organized with the support of the Mexico City government, which deployed an extensive logistical operation to ensure public safety and access. In addition to the Plaza de la Constitucion, giant screens were installed in different areas of the surrounding zone to expand visibility of the show, reaching even areas near the Monumento a la Revolucion.

During the performance, the setlist included hits from different stages of her career, as well as recent collaborations that reflect her current musical era. The concert served as the official closing of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour across Latin America, in a night that combined celebration, collective emotion, and a large-scale technical production.

The show marked the end of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, considered the most successful of her entire career. The tour began in February 2025 and, due to its enormous international impact, was extended into 2026 with multiple additional dates. The tour was recognized by Billboard as the highest-grossing tour by a Latin female artist in history, an achievement that reflects her global relevance and her ability to mobilize massive audiences across different markets.
