Renowned Colombian actress and television personality Amparo Grisales is returning to acting with a character that closely reflects her own personality.
Grisales, also known as a judge on the musical competition Yo me llamo, joins the cast of a new production from Caracol Televisión titled En qué lío me metí (“What a Mess I Got Into”). She will portray Doris Pombo, an outspoken and creative woman with a strong personality.
The new production adds to Grisales’ long list of cinematographic credits, including El Paseo 6 (2021), La Pasión (2004), Bolívar Soy Yo (2002), Bésame Mucho (1994), and television productions such as Sobreviviendo a Escobar, Alias J.J., and Las Muñecas de la Mafia.
With more than 50 years in the entertainment industry, Grisales brings extensive experience to her new role. Her character, Doris Pombo, is a talented designer and founder of a successful lingerie company known for her honesty and strong opinions — traits that also reflect the actress herself.
Amparo Grisales: Willing to adapt
In an interview with KienyKe, Grisales explained that the series centers on a dispute over a company inheritance following the death of a wealthy patient under the care of a physiotherapist. Several characters fall under suspicion, with Grisales’ character playing a key role in a storyline that blends intrigue with humor.
Grisales said her decades of experience allow her to approach roles more naturally.
“You are already so immersed in your learning after more than 52 years of career that when you read the character and begin interacting with it, you grasp the personality and emotions more easily,” she said.
The veteran actress also acknowledged the evolving audiovisual industry, noting that new technologies continue to reshape television and film. However, she expressed enthusiasm about adapting to new formats and emphasized that learning is an ongoing process.
Grisales also reflected on the influence of her mother, Delia Patiño de Grisales, whose early support helped her and her sisters pursue artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Manizales.
For Grisales, the new project represents both a blessing and an opportunity to remain active in the industry. She said her decision to join En qué lío me metí was driven by the strength of the story and the professionalism of the production team.
The series has already generated anticipation among Colombian audiences, who are eager to see Grisales return to acting in a project that combines humor, intrigue, and drama.
