Colombia ended its participation at IMEX Las Vegas 2025 fair on a positive note. The event, held in that U.S. city, focuses on the meetings and conventions industry — a field in which Colombia’s positioning improves year after year.
During the event, which took place from Oct. 7 to 9 in Las Vegas, the “Land of Beauty” presented a strong delegation of more than 20 leading companies and organizations that showcased to international buyers the country’s diversity, professionalism, and strength as a host for international events.
“At IMEX, Colombia had a strong delegation of more than 20 leading companies and organizations that highlight the country’s beauty and strengths in the meetings industry,” said Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, the country’s promotion agency.
According to Caballero, “the Colombian Caribbean offers exceptional infrastructure for large-scale congresses and conventions. The Pacific region is recognized for its biodiversity, making it an ideal location for events focused on sustainability.”
She added that “the Western and Eastern Andes combine major business hubs such as Bogota and Medellin with a rich cultural heritage, while the Eastern Plains inspire incentive programs connected to nature and tradition.”
IMEX is held annually in cities such as Frankfurt and Las Vegas, bringing together thousands of industry professionals from all continents. Its main goal is to create a space where destinations, tourism companies, specialized agencies, and event organizers can establish strategic partnerships, learn about the latest market trends, and promote innovation in corporate experience management.
During the trade show, which this year brought together representatives from more than 150 countries, business meetings, specialized conferences, and training workshops are held to address topics such as sustainability, event technology, hospitality, and destination marketing. IMEX has established itself as a key platform for strengthening countries’ competitiveness in the global meetings market and for promoting the professionalization of the industry.
In addition, the fair fosters the creation of international networks and the exchange of best practices among public and private stakeholders. Thanks to its collaborative approach, IMEX contributes to the economic growth of business tourism and to the positioning of host cities as international hubs for major corporate and academic gatherings.

Colombia strengthens its position as a leading destination for conference tourism
In recent years, Colombia has become one of the most attractive destinations in Latin America for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism. Thanks to a combination of modern infrastructure, growing air connectivity, and a diverse cultural offering, the country has earned a prominent place on the international stage.
Cities such as Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, and Cali have enhanced their capacity to host large-scale events, featuring world-class convention centers and an expanding hotel network.
Joint efforts between the public and private sectors — led by ProColombia and local tourism offices — have been key to attracting international meetings and specialized congresses in sectors such as technology, health, energy, and education. According to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), the country ranks among the top in the region in the number of registered international events.
Beyond infrastructure, Colombia offers added value that sets it apart: the warmth of its people, its diverse gastronomy, and the possibility of combining business with unique tourist experiences. From tours through the Coffee Cultural Landscape to visits to Caribbean beaches or heritage sites, the country allows visitors to enjoy a comprehensive experience.
With a strategy focused on innovation and sustainability, Colombia aims to continue growing as a hub for business and knowledge in Latin America, consolidating its image as a competitive and vibrant destination for conference tourism.
