Celebrities Who Have Lost Their Homes to the LA Fires

Several celebrity A-listers have lost their homes to the wildfires currently raging in Los Angeles, United States. Amongst them are Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, and James Woods. So More than 1,000 structures have been destroyed in the LA area, as six separate fires continue to burn in the city and surrounding area.

One of the most severely affected areas has been the Pacific Palisades, where rapidly-spreading fires have burned more than 15,000 acres of land, destroying everything in their path.

A large proportion of this neighborhood, which extends from the Santa Monica Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, has been blazed to ashes.

Celebrities who have lost their LA homes to wildfires

James Woods

In an interview with CNN, actor James Woods broke down in tears after he described what it felt like to lose his Pacific Palisades home. “One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone,” he said.

He also told the network that his wife’s niece – who is only eight years old – offered them the money in her piggy bank to help rebuild their home.

Billy Crystal 

Actor Billy Crystal, best known for his role as Harry, in When Harry Met Sally, issued a statement saying that both he and his wife Janice were heartbroken at the loss of their Pacific Palisades property due to the wildfires.

The pair had lived in their home since 1979. They said that every inch of their house was filled with love and beautiful memories and that they had raised their children and their grandchildren in the house.

Paris Hilton

In an Instagram post, Paris Hilton announced she had lost her Malibu home. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burned to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” she said.

The hotel heiress added, “This home is where we built so many precious memories. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires.”

Celebrities forced to evacuate homes

Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh Sperry also suffered the loss of their home in the Pacific Palisades. In an Instagram story, Sperry posted a picture of the flames and a heartbroken emoji. She also encouraged people to leave bowls of water for animals affected by the fires.

Other renowned celebrities whose homes have been damaged or destroyed reportedly include Sir Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, and Cary Elwes. Mark Hamill and Eugene Levy are also said to have evacuated their houses due to approaching flames.
