Bogota is preparing to experience one of the most significant editions of the Top Show Colombo. In its sixth version, the free festival of the Centro Colombo Americano presents “Unlabeled #SinEtiquetas”, an artistic proposal dedicated to making visible the impact, resistance and historical contribution of the LGBTQ+ community to music in Colombia and Latin America.

From April 25 to May 14, five venues in the Colombian capital will become territories of gathering, celebration and freedom: the open-air theater of La Media Torta, the Teatro Jorge Eliecer Gaitan, the Parque de los Hippies, and the Centro Colombo Americano.

This edition will bring together 18 national and international groups, more than 150 artists on stage and expects to attract more than 20,000 attendees during its five dates of concerts and educational activities.

Strong presence of Latin American artists

For the first time, the festival will feature a strong Latin American presence. The lineup includes La Bruja de Texcoco (Mexico), a trans artist who redefines traditional music; Kudai (Chile), a pop rock reference with a transgressive approach; Kumbia Queers (Argentina), an icon of the fusion between cumbia, punk and rock; and Johann Vera (Ecuador), a contemporary voice who has openly made his identity visible in the music industry.

They are joined by Colombian artists such as Aguas Ardientes, La Ramona, Mayra Sanchez, Asael Cuesta, La Morena del Chicamocha, LoMaasBello, Milo Mosquera, La Poderosa del Bullerengue, Yela Quim, Lady Arias, Dolores te Canta, and Lola Mento, representing different regions and sounds of the country.

Since its creation in 2021, the Top Show Colombo has evolved as a platform that does not revolve around a specific musical genre, but around urgent social conversations.

In this edition, the focus is on the LGBTQ+ community in a context where gaps in representation and violence persist. “Unlabeled is a territory to meet, celebrate ourselves and embrace our identities without molds or borders,” said Santiago Lopez, cultural coordinator of the Centro Colombo Americano.

In addition to the concerts, the festival will develop an educational agenda with talks and community meetings that seek to influence discussions on cultural rights and public policies for LGBTQ+ artists.

What is the Top Show of the Colombo Americano

With an investment close to 1,500 million pesos (about US$415,000), the festival will generate around 400 direct and indirect jobs, consolidating itself as one of the most relevant free cultural events in the city. More than figures, it is a cultural statement: music as a stage for representation and social transformation.

With 83 years of trajectory, the Centro Colombo Americano reaffirms its commitment to equality and inclusion. The entity, certified with the Non-Discrimination Seal of ICONTEC, turns this edition of the Top Show into a concrete commitment to culture as a right and as a safe space for all identities.

The festival is organized in coordination with the District Institute of the Arts (IDARTES) and has the support of district and national cultural cooperation programs.
