Tauramena, Colombia, known as the “city of avocado”, is also home to the only replica of Noah’s Ark in Latin America, a monumental work that attracts both believers and curious tourists.

The structure is located in the rural area of El Jagüito, just a few kilometers from Tauramena, inside the Biblical Park Tierra de Dios. This replica, inaugurated in 2023, is the second of its kind in the world; the first was built in the United States in 2016. The Colombian version measures approximately 50 meters long and 13 meters wide, and it is built from Canadian pine wood. Additionally, it stands on a rotating pool, adding a unique visual and symbolic element.

The biblical story

According to the biblical account, Noah was chosen to protect life on Earth from a great flood meant to cleanse the world. God instructed him to build a massive vessel large enough to shelter his family and a pair of every animal species. For 40 days and 40 nights, the rains flooded everything, but the ark remained strong and secure. When the waters finally receded, Noah disembarked and released the animals, marking a new beginning for humanity and establishing a covenant of hope and renewal with God.

The replica built in Tauramena seeks to bring this ancient story to life and offer an educational and immersive experience. Inside the ark, visitors can explore a museum featuring pairs of animal figures made of fiberglass, evoking the mythical scene of boarding. There is also a representation of Noah’s family, which allows people to imagine more realistically what life might have been like inside the ark during the flood.

Another highlight of the site is a panoramic viewpoint, from which visitors can admire the vast and lush landscapes characteristic of Casanare. This view complements the spiritual experience, creating a moment of connection with nature.

Since its opening in 2023, thousands of people have visited this park seeking a space to reflect, find inspiration, and learn. The project not only focuses on the visual and architectural impact of the massive vessel but also aims to convey a message of hope, environmental care, and unity among all living beings.

The combination of art, history, and spirituality makes the Biblical Park Tierra de Dios a unique destination in the region. Furthermore, the fact that it is the only replica in Latin America gives it special value for those looking for a different and memorable experience.

A place that inspires

Visiting the replica of Noah’s Ark in the Eastern Plains is not just a tourist outing; it is an invitation to look inward and reflect on the universal values that remain relevant today: faith, the protection of life, and the importance of starting over when everything seems lost.

Every hallway, every figure, and every view from the lookout point reinforces the purpose of this park: to offer a space where sacred history and art come together to leave a lasting mark on each visitor’s memory and heart.
